My name is Joshua Spencer. I am a philosopher and I am currently a Professor at The University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.
Before moving to Milwaukee, I was the Sutton Post-Doctoral Fellow at Syracuse University. And before that I held a one-year position at Auburn University.
I received my PhD from the University of Rochester in 2008. My dissertation was called Material Objects in Tile Space-Time. I work primarily in metaphysics and philosophy of language and I am particularly interested in the metaphysics of material objects, space, time, fundamentality, modality, and meaning. However, I have a wide range of interests and I love to talk about most philosophical topics.
